The unit consists of two main parts: a ribbon forming machine and a wax rolling machine.
The ribbon forming machine produces a smooth wax ribbon wound into a roll.
It is notably equipped with a special pressing chamber. As it passes through this chamber, the wax is compacted and its composition is standardized along the entire length of the strip. This ensures the necessary strength, elasticity, and hardness—essential properties for replacing the combs in the hive during the summer and for honey harvesting. At the exit of the pressing chamber, thanks to various inserts, a wax strip with a width of 100 to 350 mm is obtained.
The finished wax radius is formed on the wax rolling machine.
The latter is equipped with an independent tensioning device that ensures the exact size and shape of the cells. This device adjusts the tension of the wax strip exiting the rollers, thus regulating the cell size during lamination, as ambient temperature and humidity significantly influence this size. The length of the wax sheets is also adjustable from 300 mm to 500 mm via the cutting mechanism. The minimum space required for installation is 20 m².
These units can operate with or without liquid chillers (in this version, cooling is provided by running water). The manufacturer does not supply liquid chillers.
Key features recommended for the liquid chiller of the AIVOX-50-1 and AIVOX-50-2 units:
cooling capacity of 10 kW;
nominal refrigerant flow rate of 2 m³/h;
Estimated ambient temperature of +35 °C;
ambient operating temperature range from +5 °C to +43 °C;
liquid tank volume of 70 l.
For the AIVOX-100-2 unit, two liquid coolers meeting the same specifications are required.
